Supervising Social Worker, Fostering

Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated supervising social worker to work part time within a fostering team based in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum supervising social worker job is to be confirmed and is an initial 3 month contract.

Responsibilities of the supervising social worker:
- Recruit, assess, and approve foster carers and adopters, in accordance with statutory requirements
- Assess for and provide or arrange provision of post adoption support to adoptees and their families to ensure that national standards are maintained
- Prepare for and attend professional supervision sessions and staff meetings and make use of all available training and developmental opportunities

Requirements of the supervising social worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
- Must have an enhanced DBS and must be HCPC registered.
- Candidates must be an experienced assessor.
- Candidates must have experience within adoption or fostering and undertaking assessments of prospective adopters.
