Social Worker, Older People/Mental Health Team

Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker to work full time within an older people/ mental health team based in Reading. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of senior social work practice in adult services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum social worker job is £28 - £32 (LTD) per hour and is an initial 3 month contract.

Responsibilities of the social worker:
- Working with service users and liaising with service providers from within the department or other agencies, as necessary.
- Assessing service user's needs, identifying the options for meeting those needs and reviewing appropriate care within the department's priorities.
- Managing a caseload which includes vulnerable users and / or those with complex problems, taking action where necessary to protect the users and others in emergency situations.
- Planning relevant responses to meet individual needs in collaboration with relatives, carers, advocates and representatives, and in consultation with health and other agencies
- Securing the delivery, within the financial resources available, of services to meet assessed need

Requirements of the social worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within adult services
