Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker within a looked after children team based in Torbay.

The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum social worker job is £35 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

- To initiate appropriate safeguarding action to protect children and young people at risk of significant harm.
- To undertake an interview, observations and gather information from children, young people, families and other agencies to analyse, summarise and evaluate the information to provide a holistic assessment of a child or young persons need, balancing risk and protective factors within a child protection framework.
- To produce focused and purposeful care plans for interventions with explicit aims and objectives about desired outcomes within the context of managing risk to children and young people.

Requirements of the social worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
