Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker to work within an assessment and intervention team based in Harlow. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum social worker job is £207 per day (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Assessment and intervention teams work in a focused way with those children in need and their families offering three months intervention. They also deal with section 47 child protection enquiries and work jointly with the police and other partners in assessing immediate risk for children that come to attention. They transfer cases into longer-term teams should families require longer-term intervention or the children become subject to a child protection plan or come into care of the local authority.

The assessment and intervention teams are the gateway by which children, young people, patients and carers, and other agencies gain access to the children and families services of the council. The aim of the assessment and intervention team is to undertake incoming assessment and short-term intervention work with families.

Requirements of the social worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
