    Description

    Sanctuary Executive is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Service Manager to fill a full-time role within a Children's Social Care and Safeguarding Service based in Newham.

    The pay rate for this locum Service Manager job is £400 per day (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

    Job role:
    - This is a service that includes 3 - 4 small teams of social workers allocated cases of CIN/CP and LAC as the work follows the journey of the child after assessment through to permanence within the family or final care order/SGO/Adoption. Social workers therefore need skills to intervene in families to effect change, recognise and reduce risk, improve outcomes if necessary, including application of pre-proceedings or legal proceedings.
    - Our aim is for a caseload of no more than 15 children per worker however this is higher at present, up to 25 for some staff. There are 4 social workers in each team. One team is an ASYE team therefore caseload and case complexity are lower.
    - Newham is a London borough with high levels of deprivation and also high levels of child exploitation in all forms therefore case is complex. We require service managers with experience of working in challenging environments with social workers who have considerable development to do.

    Requirements:
    - Qualified HCPC registered Social Worker
    - Practice Educator's qualification desirable.
    - Experience working within a similar role.

    Essential Experience;
    - Considerable management experience in children's safeguarding management.
    - Considerable experience of management of care proceedings practice.
    - Good skills in effectively managing performance with positive results.
    - Skilled in practice interventions and the ability to impart knowledge to others.
    - Team building and appreciative approach to leadership.
