Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated senior practitioner to work full-time within an assessment team based in Bedford. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum senior practitioner job is £32 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-week contract.

Responsibilities of the senior practitioner:
- Work collaboratively with service users to assess their needs, identify options for meeting those needs, negotiate and review appropriate care within the department priorities in line with the principles of personalisation, empowering service users have control over their lives
- Work with the values of the department as expressed within the care act and outing people first, promoting autonomy independence, choice and wellbeing
- Working with individuals facing complex social and family crisis, undertaking a range of high quality assessments, reassessments and reviews (undertaking mental capacity act assessments and following best interests procedures as appropriate)
- Work in collaboration with service users to assess their needs in accordance with statutory and operational standards, policy and procedures.
- produce a statement of identified needs, agreed with or shared with users and to identify in collaboration with service users a range of options available to meet needs identified in line with the principles of personalisation

Requirements of the senior practitioner:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
