Senior Assessment Officer, Adults Team

Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated social worker to work full time as an assessment officer within an adults team based in East Riding of Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in adult services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum assessment officer job is £21.68 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is an initial 3 month contract.

Responsibilities of the assessment officer:
- Undertaking trusted assessment functions within the legislative framework using the eligibility criteria in accordance with the council's procedures.
- Processing all assessments and identify cases/referrals which may require urgent response and ensure it is passed along to appropriate team/agency to ensure people's welfare is protected and promote their wellbeing.
- Carrying out assessments, duty, casework, care plans as required by the team manager where initial information may suggest a significant level of risk and uncertainty about the service users' circumstances but does not require the direct input of a qualified Occupational Therapist or Social worker, in accordance to the council's policies and procedures.
- Identifying individuals at risk of abuse and neglect and ensuring that cases are referred to the appropriate team for action to protect adults from further abuse and neglect within the council's required timescales.

Requirements of the assessment officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within adult services
