    Description

    Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Practice Development Manager to work full-time based in Hackney. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

    The pay rate for this locum Practice Development Manager job is £35.54 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

    Duties:
    - To undertake interviews, observation and gather information from children, families and other agencies. To analyse, summarise and evaluate this information to provide a holistic assessment of a child's needs.
    - To review and reassess when necessary and be open to a change of view in response to new evidence.
    - To provide expertise, specialist guidance and consultation to colleagues, foster carers, adopters and other professionals, both internal and external, contributing directly to the child's assessment and planning.
    - To provide focused and purposeful social work interventions with explicit aims and objectives about desired outcomes within the context of managing risk to children.
    - On the basis of assessed needs, to devise written plans for intervention and/or care for children and their families including child protection plans.
    - To work closely with therapists assigned to the social work unit and take advice in devising and implementing clinical interventions with children and their families, in various settings including family homes.
    - To carry out planned interventions using a range of tried and tested methodologies including systemic and social learning theory approaches.
    - To use research findings and statutory guidance to inform social work practice.
    - To contribute to and take part in planning and implementing systems for the evaluation, monitoring and development of the service, employing professional skills in research to improve services for children and their families.
    - To utilise problem solving skills within the context of a professional relationship with parents and their children.

    Requirements of the Practice Development Manager:
    - Degree or equivalent in social work
    - Current HCPC registration
    - Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
    - The successful candidate will need to have a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience, ideally within frontline children's teams.
