Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for a Head of Looked After Children to work full-time in Manchester.

The pay rate for this role is £500 - £600 (LTD Company Equivalent) per day and is an initial 6-month contract.

The role of Head of Looked After Children is key to ensuring Manchester achieves its commitments to children and young people, and will provide strategic and operational leadership across services, responsible for ensuring sufficient local, high quality provision of care placements for all of our looked after children via provision of fostering, and
residential services both in-house and commissioned.

The Head of Looked After Children has overall responsibility for the following services:
- Fostering Service
- Permanence
- Children's Residential Services
- Strategic Commissioning & Contracts and placement team

Key Responsibilities:
- Increase the number and diversity of in-house foster carers with a strong emphasis on recruiting local people
- Ensure Manchester is compliant with all fostering and adoption regulations and guidance and Manchester procedures
- Contribute to the delivery of an agreed baseline budget for the service
- Provide the leadership for redesigning and establishing a fit for purpose, high performing fostering service
- Support the development of a successful recruitment and retention strategy
- Make a key contribution to the establishment of an effective permanence strategy
- Delivery of statutory responsibilities relating to looked after children

Experience in any of the following:
- Looked After Children
- Provider Services
- Corporate Parenting
- Children in Care
