Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated deputy team manager to fill a permanent role within a duty and assessment team based in Windsor and Maidenhead. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The salary for this role is £44,254 - £50,114 per annum.

To work as supervisory lead to a small practice group of Social Workers, whose main functions are the assessment of and planning for children in need and their families, providing both statutory and preventative services. Social Workers will work within the context of the relevant legislation and guidance, in particular 'Working Together 2015', Pan Berkshire Child Protection procedures and the local assessment framework.

- To ensure the timely assessment or investigation of referred cases, applying the department's threshold and eligibility criteria to establish level and type of need.
- To ensure that social work assessments are completed to a consistently high standard within the defined timescales.
- To provide management oversight and direction to a practice group, and provide formal case supervision to staff on a monthly basis.
- To ensure that the Duty rota is consistently maintained to provide adequate social work capacity to ensure a timely response to all referrals indicating a risk to a child/ren.
- To chair strategy meetings, professionals meetings and other meetings as required
- To ensure timely throughput of casework
- To ensure the involvement of service users throughout assessment and planning processes

Requirements of the deputy team manager:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- PQ1/PQ2
- Current HCPC registration
- Management/Supervisory qualification
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
