Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Care Proceedings Case Manager to work full-time within a Safeguarding Service based in London. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Case Manager job is £42 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Overall Purpose of Job:
- To work with the courts and a range of stakeholders in the Family Justice System to ensure the timely progression of Newham's care proceedings cases.
- To monitor implementation of the courts requirements in care proceedings cases.
- To escalate to the courts if there is delay that would require the case to be relisted.
- To identify system and other issues that lead to delays in care proceedings.
- To provide direct coaching /mentoring support to social workers in their preparation of submissions to the court.
- To work with agencies across the Family Justice System to monitor, measure and track costs incurred by all agencies, to gain a view of whole system costs.
- To work with equivalent managers in our 4 neighbouring Boroughs who are part of the East London Court Work Project. This is a government pilot to work together towards the aims of the Family Justice Review to reduce delay in care proceedings.

- To ensure the progression of care proceedings cases against the agreed timescale; Both looking at this from a strategic point of view in terms of implementing change by way of policies and procedures as well as on an operational basis by working with social workers and teams.
- Working with the social work team and the courts to understand what progression is required for each case and working with all parties involved in a case to chase up progress against directions. This will include working with solicitors, social workers and guardians to ensure they are progressing their input into cases.
- To ensure all parties understand at the outset of each case, the role of the case manager and their duties to ensure directions are met and handled in a timely fashion, in accordance with the timescale for the child.
- To provide direct guidance and coaching to social workers who are managing care proceedings cases. This will include help in preparing statements and preparation for giving evidence in court.

Requirements of the Case Manager:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
