Cumbria social work jobs

Comprising of the Lake District, the Eden Valley, the North Pennines, the Furness Peninsula and part of the Yorkshire Dales, the predominantly rural county of Cumbria is considered one of the most beautiful regions of the UK.

Activities

From abseiling, activity centres, fishing, caving, mountaineering, canoeing, kayaking, climbing and flying, to walking trails and sightseeing, Cumbria has something to offer everyone regardless of age and interest.

Gastronomy

Cumbria boasts national award-winning restaurants as well as gastro-pubs and cafes. Locals and visitors alike benefit from the clear Lakeland water, beer and the renowned Lakeland lamb and beef.

Points of interest

Meet tigers and rare animals at Dalton-in-Furness zoo, walk along Hadrian’s Wall, take the children to the Beatrix Potter attraction or one of the historic steam railways. If you prefer to be inside then one of the many museums or national trust properties are well worth a visit.

Transport

There are great transport links with the M6 motorway running through Kendal, Penrith and Carlisle, and the West Coast Main Line (running from London to Glasgow) stopping at Carlisle, Penrith and Oxenholme.
