Tonight (12th June) sees the premiere of a brand new one-off comedy show based in a social work setting.

“Damned” is the latest instalment of Sky Arts’ popular ‘Playhouse Presents’ series and will be broadcast at 9pm on Sky Arts 1 HD.

Written by Jo Brand and Morwenna Banks, the programme focuses on the character of Rose, a stressed-out single mother who works in a chaotic social services department.  Starring Jo Brand, Kevin Eldon and Jonathan Creek star Alan Davies; it promises to be a comical look at the characters working within the social work sector.

Jo Brand has used her own experience as inspiration for the programme; pre-fame she worked as a Mental Health Nurse whilst her mother worked as a social worker.

Although billed as a one-off special, Sky Arts 1 are known to use their ‘Playhouse Presents’ series to develop full series.

We would love to know your thoughts on the programme, so if you watch the show tonight, let us know what you think! Tweet us @SanctuarySW #Damned
