It's the final push for entries for the Social Worker of the Year Awards which close at 5pm this Friday (22 July).

As headline sponsors, it's encouraging to hear of the sheer volume of entries that have already been received. We might even top last year’s unprecedented response.

Of course, it’s not too late to enter and with 17 categories, including team and individual awards across adults and children’s services, and many more, there’s a category for everyone.

Even just nominating somebody is a big thank you.

Social Care Manager at Suffolk County Council and winner of Team Leader of the Year 2015, Maureen Roscoe-Goulson, describes her reaction to the awards in the latest edition of Sanctuary Social Work News (SSWN), saying:

"In all honesty, reading the testimonials from my peers was enough for me. When I discovered I had been shortlisted I remember saying to my line manager “I really don’t think I’ll win”, and so when my name was called out at the awards I was incredibly shocked, happy and humbled; all in that order."
