Diagnostic radiographers and sonographers will have an exclusive opportunity to ask questions to Karen Smith, the President of the Society and College of Radiographers during an exclusive networking event taking place next month.

The event, which is sponsored by Sanctuary Health, will take place on Thursday 5th February from 6pm-8pm at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Grafton Hotel on Tottenham Court Road in London.

Those attending the event will benefit from ample networking opportunities, and will be able to share practical tips and advice with likeminded professionals whilst enjoying pre-dinner drinks and canapés. The event is free of charge to attend (although pre-booking is required) and delegates may also count it as part of their Continuing Professional Development profile.

The keynote speech will be provided by Karen Smith, who was inaugurated as the SoR President in July 2014. As well as serving as an SoR representative for 25 years, she qualified as a radiographer 30 years ago and currently works for the Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. She is therefore, well placed to speak to delegates about the future of the profession as well as being able to answer any questions from the audience.

Lee Emmett, from Sanctuary Health said: “It is really exciting that Karen Smith will be joining the event and providing the keynote speech. She has a wealth of experience and will be able to answer any questions that guests may have about their careers. We are really looking forward to hearing what she has to say and I know that imaging professionals will really welcome the opportunity to hear directly from her.”

He continued: “We would also like to remind practitioners that there is limited space at the event and spaces are selling out fast, so we would recommend anyone who is thinking of coming along to sign up early to guarantee their attendance.”

To register to attend the event, simply submit your details using the online booking form. Practitioners are encouraged to attend with colleagues – to register for multiple tickets, simply let us know how many spaces you would like to book when submitting your details.
