Mental health and physical health will become a combined force over the next 12 months, thanks to a new initiative which was launched this weekend by HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and HRH Prince Harry of Wales.

Heads Together” is a new campaign designed to end the stigma around mental health. Working closely with a team of charity partners, the project will raise awareness and provide vital help for those with mental health issues.

Whilst not officially launching until 16 May, it was revealed over the weekend that the Heads Together campaign will be the official charity of the year for the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon

Heads Together will be the biggest single project undertaken collectively by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. On the campaign website, the Royals write:

“Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health. This fear of prejudice and judgement stops people from getting help and can destroy families and end lives. Heads Together wants to help people feel much more comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing and have the practical tools to support their friends and family.”

The following charities will be supported by the Heads Together campaign;

Best Beginnings

Campaign against living miserably (CALM)

Contact

MIND

Place2Be

The Mix

Young Minds

We look forward to hearing more about the initiative after its official launch next month.
