Earlier this week (Tuesday 6th May), we attended an exciting lunchtime reception at the Houses of Parliament, where we were able to celebrate the achievements of the 2013 Social Work Award winners.
Just 45 guests were invited to the reception, which was also attended by Norman Lamb MP, Minister of State for Care and Support and Edward Timpson MP, Parliamentary-Under-Secretary for Children & Families. During the event, both Ministers took the time to speak with each award winner to learn more about their achievements and Mr Lamb publicly described social work as one of the country’s “most important services”.

"Having the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our winners in such an incredible venue was very inspiring"

As headline sponsors of the awards, we are extremely proud to have had the opportunity to help celebrate with such an inspirational group of social workers to the Houses of Parliament. We firmly believe that social work should be recognised in such a way, and it was a wonderful occasion.

James Rook, Managing Director, Sanctuary Social Care and a trustee of the Social Work Awards organising charity said: “We have worked incredibly hard over the past few years to raise the profile of the social work awards. Having the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our winners in such an incredible venue was very inspiring. I’m very proud to be involved in such a great initiative.”
