With just a few weeks until the start of a new year, we look back at the recruitment patterns of 2014 and resulting career opportunities for the months ahead.

It’s been a busy year for the recruitment of criminal justice staff; one of significance to many of those working within the criminal justice system, particularly probation services.

2014 criminal justice recruitment trends

We understand it’s been an unsettling time for many of our candidates, particularly probation staff, and we fully appreciate this fact. However, with the huge amount of change and now 21 CRCs actively recruiting staff, there are plenty of career opportunities and we’re offering as much help as we can.

Across all professions, we are typically seeing roles filled within 5-7 days of being advertised and many of those roles are taken by candidates who have pre-registered with us.

We are pleased to have continued offering our candidates unrivalled support, particularly welcomed in the last year since there are a number of professionals, probation staff especially, who haven’t needed to apply for a position for many years. Our experienced consultants have been busy taking calls from those concerned with changes to their roles and interested in developing their career path – even within an alternative area of criminal justice work. 2014 has also seen the introduction of our criminal justice career centre, including tips and advice on putting a CV together and interview preparation, as well as a series of live, online discussions to answer our candidates’ questions on the probation reforms.

If you are an experienced professional within the criminal justice sector and are looking for a new challenge for the New Year, contact one of our specialist consultants to see what we can do for you.
